It is impressing how a small park in such a huge city can become such a spot of peace and quietness. It doesn’t matter that it is next to 6th Avenue, the trees on one side and the Public Library on the other, because it remains absolutely isolated and creates such a special atmosphere.
It is a place where many people meet along the day. It is mainly used by nearby employees. It gets crowded specially at lunch time, with tied men in their suits that go there to enjoy lunchfrom this particular spot and take the choice to quit their work stress for a while. But you can also find students, tourists, people who want to have a rest during shopping or friends who meet there.
The central part hosts a big lawn esplanade. You can benefit from impressive views of skyscrapers from there, but you can also relax and enjoy the blue sky and the sun. In warm seasons there are chairs to do some reading, disconnect for a while or take the chance to haev a snack, but in winter there is an ice skating rink.
Many activities are held there, but the most common one in summer are outdoor cinema sessions. Here will you find the film program. We recommend you to go there early to make sure you find some room. You can also enjoy some ioga sessions, concerts, knitting lessons, language or fishing lessons. Here is the complete catalog.
CONFIDENTIAL: After a busy day or simply to share a nice chat, we love to go to one of the stands and have a freshly-made lemonade sitting somewhere in the park.
